About

At the time of writing Jon Hodgson is 40 years old and lives in Scotland, UK though he happens to have been born south of the border in England. 

His career has spanned art direction, set building, props making, graphic design, story boarding, historical illustration, card game art, board game art, computer games cut scene art, educational illustration, video editing, and roleplaying game art.

As well as working freelance as an illustrator, Jon is currently art director and deputy CEO at Cubicle 7 Entertainment Ltd.  Jon is responsible for the look of all Cubicle 7 products including The One Ring rpg, Doctor Who Card Game, Hobbit Tales Card Game, Victoriana, Rocket Age, World War Cthulhu and more.

In 2013 Jon helped organise and run Cubicle 7’s highly successful Kickstarter forThe Cthulhu Britannica London Boxed Set
which raised over £90,000 ($150 000).

Jon trained as a "fine artist", specialising in abstract painting, and had several gallery shows in the 1990s before running away to join the fantasy art circus.

Jon uses an Apple iMac, Artrage 4.5, Adobe Photoshop CC 2014, and a Wacom Intuos 3. As well as pencils and paper, and very occasionally actual real paint.
